Bright Beginnings

Celebrating 20 years, planning for many more!

The Bright Beginnings Family launched our 20th Anniversary Celebration on Capitol Hill [link to the photo album from the event on FB] on October 25, 2011 to celebrate two decades of preparing homeless children for kindergarten and getting their parents back on their feet. More than 2,100 children and their families have received the comprehensive education, social services and family-stabilizing services that made a measurable impact on their lives. All of us who are connected to Bright Beginnings are very proud of this important milestone and excited about the expansion plans that will take our nationally-regarded child development and family services to a second center in Ward 7.

A special thank you to Congressman James E. Clyburn and Congressman Tim Ryan for attending our celebration, and other congressional sponsors (Congresswoman Karen Bass, Congressman G.K. Butterfield, Congressman André Carson, Congresswoman Yvette Clarke, Congressman Danny K. Davis, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer, Congressman Jesse Jackson, Jr., Congressman Gregory Meeks, Congresswoman Terri Sewell, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, Congressman Ed Perlmutter, Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson and Congressman John Yarmuth) for graciously sponsoring our event.

Both The Walt Disney Company and Amgen and many others from the corporate community deserve special appreciation for their demonstrated support for the well-being of our children. Please see our corporate and congressional sponsors in our event program.
